Undoubtedly one of the more challenging trips weather wise.

Summer had officially not arrived by the time I touched down in Christchurch early January and the hail, sleet and snow bore testimony to that fact.

The rivers were dirty in a lot of places and the west coast area I had planned to fish were flooded.

Fortunately, with a van and a sense of adventure we found some pretty good pieces of water and fish.

Enjoy the ride.......
  1. Dustoff....
  2. First run after dropping in....
  3. A little slice of paradise.
  4. Nymphing the deeper runs when the fish refused to come up.
  5. Just love catching rainbows.
  6. Camp spot for the night.
  7. Another good one comes to the net.
  8. No guessing just how deep some of those big pools were......3 tungsten beads. Casting with a hard hat was optional <grin>
  9. Miles and miles of water.
  10. Just landed.
  11. Nice fish in a small little creek.
  12. They just love eating blow flies.
  13. Easy does it....
  14. It's amazing what you can find in some of the small little creeks in the tussocks.
  15. A good one.
  16. And another.....
  17. Ready for a photo.
  18. You were never far from a fly...
  19. Battle stations.
  20. There was some serious walking at times....
  21. Somehow they just know when you don't have the rifle.....
  22. Cruiser....
  23. Nice rainbow about to be released.
  24. A nice fish.
  25. Sometimes the surrounds are as nice as the fishing.
