Hi Nick, I got your details from Mike Newby on the Flytalk forum. I would like to introduce myself, I am Chris from Heidelberg in Gauteng. Are you in SA now or still on the other side of the world? I would like to start building cane rods soon and is currently busy researching all aspects. I intent doing this as a hoppy and not for any commercial reasons. I know there is a lot to learn and it seems the guys in this sport are keen to help wherever they can. Do you know if there is a Tonkin supplier in or near Johannesburg? I spoke to someone from a nursery who claim to have Tonkin but I am very sceptical since I don't know the difference yet. I understand I can buy all or at least a lot of the components in Jozzy from Ricko? I assume you will also be able to supply or do you only buy for your own use.
