Well based in Gauteng you have the vaal for yellows, dullstroom for trout.2 very nice options. As for specific venues i am sure a few guys will mention the best "beginner" water
Ckeck again - he is based in Gouteng - "o" and "a" are very far apart on the keyboard - doubt it was a typo
There are many species you can target on fly.
Trout is my preference but you will have to take a drive to KZN or Mpumalanga for that.
In Gauteng you've got:
1. Yellowfish in the Vaal
2. Bass which is more common in Gauteng and most other areas.
3. Kurper (Tilapia) which, well, you will find anywhere in Gauteng.
My least favourite is barbel and carp but that is also an option. You will also hook a few barbel as well as mudfish in abundance on the Vaal.
If you come to the North West there are a few very nice places to go for Yellowfish and Bass but my lips are sealed as to where they are on a public forum.
The most prestine would be trout in the Cape Streams
Fishing is just my thing. I don't know what it is but it seems that i just can't get enough of it.
