    Default Carp on Fly!

I had a bad day at the office on Saturday. The dam I wish close toe Bloem was difficult.
Al the fish that was feeding well a week ago, where just lying around sun bathing.

Time of day was about 12:00…

The water have been rising a fast. The moon was full…. The water was hot hot hot….

Any one any idee, or similar experience???

I know they are difficult to catch when sun bathing… I dipped and a few Flies in front of them. Did not help at all… No takes!

Praat waaroor jy wil, even Karp is welkom hier maar as jy nie van die replies hou nie moenie 'n nuwe thread begin nie anders gaan ons met 100 "Carp on fly" threads sit.

Why? So if you don't like the replies in a thread you started, you create a new one with the exact same heading hoping to not receive challenging replies again?Come now John.

    hey all...

as much as arguing is fun, let's get back to the reason for the thread...

Ula, i dont have a huge amount of experience catching carp in open water, more in rivers. i have had a lot of success with small black and natural coloured buggers very lightly weighted to hover in the water.

also, buggy hare's ear nymphs work well...
some have had success using algae flies when they are sipping off the surface. just cast into the area and wait for them to suck it in...

perseverence is always the key to any successes...keep at it bud
bushveld scalies - worth the blood, sweat and tears
