It's a pleasure... but why? Are you the owner of a new Horizon rod?

Interestingly enough, the Horizon 5wt was at the top of my shopping list next time I came to Joburg. As much as I love Sage the Horizon is rod of choice for me for the Vaal. Before my entire kit was stolen I was fishing a Horizon 6wt on the Vaal and it is the top choice as a Vaal rod in my opinion.

    Thanks you guys

Werner, I have fallen in love with my 5# Scott, Alpha Bravo Charlie ( SAS ) built by ET ( Koos).

The rod was aquired originally for winter dry fly fishing as the action suits my k@k casting style.

I have however been using it more and more and MORE in this summer for nymphing. It has landed my PB LM,( 2.8kg ) as well as my PB barbel.( 5.8kg )

Now my go to rod for SM on the Vaal. The 6# Stealth Bomber is now my LM rod, and the 8/9 Elbe my estuary/Corefly barbel rod.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

    Thanks Vaughn,

A topic not often discussed as few see it from the Guide's perspective and they can't talk about it.
