Default Mount Ceder and the Groot River

    Hi guys

I want to get away some weekend and thought of Mount Ceder. I've read the posts on the Groot River at Mount Ceder, but they are quite old. Anyone fish there recently.

What species can one expect? I'm hoping to target some yellows, so if anyone knows of venues around Cape Town please feel free to share your knowledge

Jean maybe have a look at Bushmans Kloof close to Clanwilliam. They have a sweet article in the new TCFF. Think that place would be worth a shot as there is more than enough to do for the whole family.

Whilst there you can actually explore the whole Clanwilliam area.

    Hi E.T

Ja cool article that. But man....they are expensive. Cheapest at R3K per person per night. Thats quite a bit for a Clanwilliam yellow Looks amazing though.

    LOL...especially breeding ones

Bwahaaaa!!! Ja look at that rate I don't think they would mind if you wring one of their Ostrich's necks and gooi it on a spit braai.

Ostrich neck is way better than mutton neck in a potjie. Enough nonsense.

Why not have a look at Beaverlac? Or some other accommodation in Clanwilliam. There is also that place in the Karoo where you could fish for SM Yellows, muddies and Moggel. The Breede is another option. What about the Doring, Berg, etc?

Thanks E.T will give it a look. I take it that most of the bigger rivers around Clanwilliam will be fishable for yellows.

Dead right. There are a few worth having a cast at.
And also fish the dam at Clanwilliam.

Those rivers holds Clanwilliam Yellows, Witvis, Sawfin and proper SM Bass.
