Pretty neat G! You must have a lot of time on your hands, with all these flies that you tie?
Here is another simple but deadly lil fly. Almost always included in a 3 fly rig in Trout Stillwaters.
Hook: Hanak BL500 #10
Bead: 2.8mm Brass / Tungsten Gold.
Thread: Sheer 14/0 Black.
Body: Gold Holographic Tinsel.
Overwing / Head: Black Krystal flash.
Hook: Dohiku (302) #8
Bead: 2.8mm Brass / Tungsten Gold.
Thread: Sheer 14/0 Black.
Body: Gold Holographic Tinsel.
Overwing / Head: Black Krystal flash.
Tip. The Krystal flash is NOT tied in "bullet" style (even though it looks like it is) i.e on the shank, slide the bead over, pull material back over. The bead is placed about 2mm from hook eye and secured with glue and thread. The overwing is tied in before the bead and after the bead just before the eye. The KF is then folded back and tied down before the bead. Why? You won't get enough material (bulk) on the shank "bullet style" cause the bead won't slide over, too thick.

Thanks Stones not really hey I work extremely long hours so I have to make every second count when it comes to tying flies.

Gerrit, how the frikn hel do you do this? Where do you get the time?!
By the time I get home I am finished, I dont have the lus or the strength to sit down and focus on tying flies, how do you do it?!
i like this idea for a saltwater fly...modify the hook to a decent gama or mustad, and use pearl, white, blue and white etc and throw into shoals of bonnies. would be killer.

G, what's the reason for using a gold bead here instead of a black bead?
