I was at Elgro and did enjoy it and I did learn some new things, it’s mainly about changing your mindset on CZ nymphing and running with it from there.

It would have been nice to go it some more technical aspects but it’s difficult to accommodate the experienced and novice CZ nymph anglers in such a short time in broken English. I think it would be nice if we could organise an advanced class for the more experienced anglers to attend.

It was quiet remarkable to see Jiri being able to have his flies drift at a much slower pace than any of the more experienced anglers with a fraction of the weight in the flies (i.e. they were drifting closer to the bottom)

I think his method of CZ nymphing is much more applicable to using on trout streams compared to the variation of CZ nymphing we’ve learnt here as it’s possible to fish 2-3 rod lengths away from yourself using his method
Fly-fishing surpasses the need to actually catch a fish, it becomes a mindset, and with time, an obsession.

Lord, grant that I may catch a fish so big that even I,
    When speaking afterwards,
May have no need to lie.
    Amen

Gael, does Jiri also make use of certain casting techniques, ei the tuck cast.

I know some experienced anglers make use of it to get their flies down.
