    Default Unusual Breede catch

I recently caught a flattie (bartail flathead) at the Breede River mouth.

I was under the impression that their distribution was limited as far south as the South East Coast, not the South Western Coast. Has anyone else encountered them at the Breede? Would be interesting to know.

The last one I caught was in the Cowie River, Port Alfred, didn't know they were down South. Sure if they are in Breede then some must come out of Gouritz, Klein Brak, Swartvlei, etc.? Never heard of that happening.

Guide to common sea fishes of SA only show them down to Knysna.

The furthest south I've caught one was in PE, really surprised to hear of one landed in the Breede. I guess global warming is not a rumour

Conrad, I also got one there a few weeks ago. It's sheit when you cast at a tailing Grunter..... get the pull and then this spiked flattie pops out

Hi Conrad I saw a few on the plaat 3 weekends ago. Dig the look of them. A Golden Kingie came out the Breede recently too.
