    Default what flies to use in st Lucia estuary

    Hey all, what flies are good to use in the st lucia estuary off one of the wooden piers over the river?

    and do i need a permit to fish there.

    Hi Sean,

    Firstly yes you need a permit! you can get one from the post office.

    Secondly fishing off the jetties aren't the best places to fish, but if you need to you might pick a springer up on a 2/0 clouser minnow in olive over white that is sparsely tied, it has worked well for me in the estuary.

    I dont know how experienced you are or what setup you have, but you are more likely to get some wave garrick in the surf zone around the main beach with a small white crazy charlie or small minnow pattern. To be honest I would rather pay the entrance fee to go to cape vidal for the day than fish st lucia.
