    Default bucketmouth minnow

    hi guys

here is an SBS for a nice minnow pattern i've been playing around with. i've tested it a few times in the pool for swimming action and it looks deadly. swims straight, nice movement and sinks slowly, only slughtly head down. i think it would work great for largemouths (yellows and bass)

    Materials needed:
    hook: gama B10s #4
    tail: rabbit strips
flash for lateral line: black flash (optional)
    eyes: plastic dumbell real eyes
    weight around eyes: lead flat/round
head: dubbing brush of craft fur, colour combinations limited to imagination
    weedguard: 25lb fluoro

step 1 - insert hook in vice

step 2 - tie on real eyes leaving a gap for the head and weedguard

step 3 - cut rabbit strips to length and trim rabbit strip into a v for swimming action and taper

step 4 - tie in black rabbit strip and trim excess

step 5 - tie in chartreuse rabbit and trim excess

step 6 - wrap lead behind the eyes, figure 8 and infront of eyes

step 7 - i used a split thread with very strong thread to create my brush of black craft fur. you can also sub with already made brushes or your own with different soft materials

step 8 - trim to shape

step 9 - flatten 2mm of the weedguard and tie at the head. make sure the bend of the line is facing forward and not back toward the hook point

    final flies.
