Does anybody, or has anybody used an Xplorer Classic II 7' 6" 2/3 wt fly rod for streams ?
Need some opinions please.

Agree with Darryl, its not a bad rod for the price.
I have a 5wt Classic II, and I do find it a little soft or slow, which ever you feel is the more apt term.

I suppose its a good rod, as is just about every other rod. Any 2 or 3 wt will be ok for stream fishing, but then again, it depends largely on what you want to do with it. Stream fishing is about as diverse and subjective as any other kind of fly fishing, but it you are looking more specifically at certain things, such as physical weight, tracking, short casting, rod action according to your application...... and many other things, you probably going to look a little further afield.
Its always a good idea to have a good think about the way that you fish, and your preferred tactics. In other words, do you prefer to fish very close with a dry fly, or do you prefer to make longer casts, and mend lots of line. If you prefer to fish with a deep nymphing technique, etc etc..... all these things are going to influence the choices of equipment that you will feel best comfortable with.
My opinions on the rod that you are asking about, is that it is a good, low cost rod to introduce yourself to stream fishing, but bear in mind, it's a low end rod, and as you might grow more competent and experienced in stream fishing, you might feel that it is somewhat limited. Stream fishing is possibly the most specialised form of fly fishing, in that there are a many other factors that attribute to success, and the rod being only a small part. My advice to you, would be to buy the rod, and see how it goes.

I think a 2/3WT is ideal if you're starting out in streaming, the particular pros and cons of that specific rod you will learn with time as you find the techniques you like and the type of fishing you enjoy.
Fishing need only be as complicated as you make it, sometimes less is more, especially if you're still starting out.
YMMV.

True that.
For years I fished with a cheap Stealth Start 2/3wt, and I caught plenty fish in streams, rivers and dams. Heck, I even caught fish in the estuaries of St Lucia with it.

Certainly worth more than you pay for it. My son fished one for a few years, even competitively, and only stopped using it because he won a Guide II.
I have one, and its a great little rod! Ideal for starting out on the streams with
