    Default Thrift/ Gubu/ E.C. Stillwaters

    HI Guys

    Winter is approaching and its time to do some stillwater trouting. Will be going to Thrift this weekend. 7 of the P.E. locals will be going, booked and paid for. (to the local forumers I e-mailed to join us and cant make it, bad luck the whole trip has been sponsored costing us zilch) maybe next time.

    Will post details of the trip when we get back.

    You never know with the weather- we fished in the cold snow and sleet in early april. I'll speak to Martin tomorrow and hear how it is going at the moment.
    We caught a lot of fish when we went.

    Dad tells me the day ticket at Thrift is now R200 - he has stopped going.

    R150.00 Day ticket and R75.00 sleepover. Still worth it.

    The weather is normally cr@p at Thrift, not for fair weather ff.

    Leaving Fri @ 14h00hrs. and fishing 1/2 day Sunday.

    YEP, Martin uses big flies here. So do I, no:2 xl shank Millionares taddies, U.V. Taddies, Parsons Glories and smaller flies like San Juan or Filoplume Damsels. D.D.D. always works for me Dry Fly fishing.
