What is interesting is how mortality increase with air exposure, which leads to gill lamanae (Ferguson and Tufts 1992) p55.

This should be a friendly reminder to not take the fish out of the water and where possible to take the hook out under the water and let it swim free.

Its wonderful to get some more insight in our indigenous fish and the impact we as fishermen really have. Great work those guys are doing for yellowfish protection by providing scientific research to back up conservation.

Here is another beaut from the study:

"Hypothesis 5: L. aeneus are fast growing, fast maturing and able to reproduce from an
early age. L. aeneus grows relatively fast and reaches maturity late in life (at a ⅓ to ½ of
their lifespan). The first part of this hypothesis pertaining to fast growth is accepted, but the
latter part regarding the maturity is rejected."

... *** comments aside ... all I can see is that it lists Bogar grips under "What not to use" but if that is how you intend to answer a sincere question then never mind and happy stewing in whatever bee in your bonnet has you pissed off today.
