Venues in gauteng?

Hey guys

Where is a good place to go fish for the day in gauteng?

I just bought a new rod and reel and want to test it out
i cant wait till end of next month when i go to Dullstroom
to test it.

There are a few trout venues such as Brookwood, Footloose and Gnu Valley or trout hunters BUT I wouldn't recommend going there in the highveld summer and expecting to catch anything, just way too hot and any fish still living will be too stressed to take flies , good to go and practice your casting though. Good luck with the fly fishing and I hope it brings you many years of pleasure and satisfaction.
