Default Flyfishing Trips to Southern Oman

    Dear All

Recently, I have been playing around with an idea of opening up a flyfishing destination business that offers flyfisherman the opportunity to travel to Oman in order to target Permit, Shad, Bream and a number of other species on offer in the area. This concern would be land based, would be a mobile camping operation, and would also offer kayaks in case clients want to fish offshore. there will also be an optional extra of spending a day or 2 on a boat, targeting monster GTs, Sailies and many other species found offshore.

I have been granted permission to run this market research on the forum, and wondered if you could help me out with your opinions and thoughts.

If you have any comments, please do feel free to post them.

    Cheers

    Matt

I have heard about serious GT's being caught in Oman.
Think you will have to post a couple really good photos, to convince people to visit.

If you can setup a quality operation providing reasonable service and access to awesome fishing, even if only land based, I'll be one of your first customers.

Take a look at the most recent Complete Flyfisherman - my ideas of flyfishing in Southern Oman have certainly been justified...just seems I was beaten to the start line....
What a place, and what potential....and a huge coastline...might just keep on keeping on...

Looks good, but plan carefully as to who your target market will be. If you are targetting SA clients only, you will go bust, as the market just isnt big enough.

I disagree Andre...the SA fly fishing fraternity are begging for a reasonably priced quality location
