Default How serious are you about improving your fly fishing?

In the light of another thread, how about the following.

How serious are you about your fly fishing?
"Fly fishing is just a past time", or "I am addicted."
I am happy with my competency levels.
    Always wanting to learn more.
Think I know enough to keep me happy and catch some fish.
Hungry for more info and want more info to raise my fishing to anohter level.
Or "Whatever, as long as I catch fish, I am happy....."

Nymphing, adds depth to your fly fishing.
Nymphing, is fly fishing in another dimension

Funny, I had exactly the same response.

I think flyfishing has so many facets to keep one satisfied and interested at many levels. Some I've sort of mastered (even to the point of meh), some frustrate and challenge me, and some make me feel like a virgin on my first date

I guess one could say im pretty addicted

Above all else I fish for fun but I do take it quite seiously when the mood stikes.
Had you asked me the same question a few years back I would have said im quite compotent and happy with my ability but since my involvement in the competition scene my interpretation of a truly compotent fisherman has changed quite dastically. This has spaked a yearning for all the info I can get my grubby paws on and I think the minute one becomes content in ones abitlity the more your fishing stagnates. Theres just always something to learn and some aspect to improve and that for me adds to my enjoyment tenfold and I guess thats what keeps me 'hooked' (Having a great bunch of mates who are more obsessed than I goes a long way to keeping things exciting too) hehehehe
