Default A Fine Bass to open the season

Had a chance to go fishing last Friday morning for a few hours and was rewarded with a nice Largemouth of 67cm. I did not have a scale so I do not have a exact whieght but on a five wheight this fish pulled like a fright train. And in open water with no opstructions she did a few good runs. She was fooled with a black brush fly that I'm working on to mimick the fluke's that the Bass anglers using to great efect. The photos were taken with a phone camera so excuse the quality.

Good job that's a lekker Bass especially on a 5WT fly rod ... my (un)educated guess would put that fish somewhere between 3.5Kg and 5Kgs ... hard to tell on the day, size of belly, girth, food in belly all things affect the weight of a Bass greatly.

Here is a pic of the fly used, the black one at the bottom

    Hook- Gamakatsu B10s size2
    Tail- Four Black hackle feathers
    Boddy- Black Frizz Fibre brush
    Flash- Flat Mylar
    Lead- 0.025 fulllength of shank

Some how I managed to get the weight destrubution corect on this fly it has a lovely swiming action when retreved with short bursts!
