Default Invasive species in our rivers

What do you do when you catch a Grass Carp or bass in our rivers? C&R or C&K

Grass Carp causes a lot of damage to our river eco systems.

Personally i revive and release (same as any other fish i catch). These fish are in our river systems to stay, so i see no real point in killing them.

Don't you think over the long run that this will have a negative affect on our local fish species?

Perhaps, but killing a couple will not make a dent in the population. And, generally, i don't enjoy killing things.

Grass carp may eat 100 percent of their body weight in vegetation per day. I think if this is not controled it will have a negative inpact on our eco systems.
I would prefer to catch yellow fish in the future and not grass carp. It is not about the killing of the fish it about conserving our indigenous species.

Hi firephish, I went on to your blogspot. Very nice. I am also a person loving the wildlife.
I wonder what you would do if a India Myna would come and destroy one of the local birds nest close to your house which was bussy rasing hatchling or two.
Once they moved in then gone is your local bird and that alien will not leave until you do someting about it.

The gardin birds in my gardin and suroundings have a royl time. No India Myna within 100 Meter.
