Default a week in Scottburgh - is it worth it

    Hi all,

I'm off this week for a nice two week break. First to the mountains of the draak (for the illusive wild troot) and then to Scottburgh. The second part is more family than fishing time, but stilll...Is it worth smuggling in the 9wt?

Anyone been? tactics, spots all of the good stuff will be most appreciated.

Thanks. positive replies from two people is more convincing than I needed. to be fair, I think i was convinced before I posted...Now at least I can say I have expert opinion to confirm my plans.

As to the crab pattern, I may have to degrade myself and get a store-bought version or two...

This is a pic of Scottburgh from a few days ago, they have had a week of onshore winds and plenty of rain, hopefully by the time you arrive it would have improvedScott.jpg

Give Cliff Rochester from Fishient a call. They are based in Scottburgh.
he will direct you to good spots.

    Awesome! much appreciated Korrie.

Off topic - I saw the piece Ed H did for Tom S's website on your "X Factor?" Nice tying that! Looks like a winner pattern (to my limited knowledge eyes anyway). Mooi man.

I have fished there before, didnt catch anything mayor. Got a lot of Moonies, Flagtails and Blacktails on pink crazy charlies. The only bigger fish I encountered where Wrasse that chowed my flies to pieces. You will also get some Wave Garrick from the beach, definitely worth a stuff around
