    The local disti is Optimax.

The BVK is hard to beat, the Method is a monster and allthough I desperately want one ... at two and a half times the price of the BVK it's an easy decision if you have a budget.

I'm sure this shootout will make for an interesting read.

TFO have 2 rods in the top 5 wow!!! Nee man kêrels....

Ps. These tests are what they are. I would like to see a 10 foot shoot out done with the name brands only, not these mickey mouse ones.

I am surprised that no Echo rods were included in this test. The Echo 3 retails for $380 thus placing it in the budget range. They are brilliant imo. I bought an Echo 3 10wt as a back-up rod to a Sage Xi-3 and roles have since been reversed. The Sage is currently the back-up.

The Method is listed, but it's R8800 for a factory build, therefore around $800.

I really want to get that Orvis in hand, see if it lives up to with the bold statements they make about it.

There are a number of rods not included, all of which have had their owners say good things about them.

What this does re-inforce is that the concept of "premium brands" is pretty much a myth perpetuated by marketing hype and being clung to for as long as we are prepared to pay, which is something I have long contended.

I have this rod and it is very sweet indeed.
