I have to say, I dont know much about glass.
if glass is slower, how much slower?
what is the difference between a fast glass and a slow carbon?

Korrie, i'll ne sending down a 7'3 3-weight to Stanton and Neil in a month or so. Welcome to test it. Note though it's slow and perfect for dry flies

I have an old Hardy still water #7 somewhere.
A bit difficult to cast with today's modern lines on still water.
A 9" but flexes right into the butt
Will try the rods, when it arrives in the Cape.
I have a 7'9 #3 carbon rod. I remember when visiting Italy fishing with Edoardo and Pier-Luigi. on small mountian streams.
I took it with me, took the rod out, thinking this is what they would fish with.
They looked at it, shook their heads and said, that is the rods we give the children to practice with in the ponds.
I slipped it back into the tube and took the #5 out.
Moral:
When in Italy, do like the Italians. :0

Boo ha haa, boo ha haaaa!
Ag I don't get what Auntie Andrea is in such a huff about, everyone's entitled to their preference in how to pursue their favourite passtime.
I've held two bamboo rods, cast them a few times and holy crud I would never want one for the kind of fishing I normally do, but MAN ... The clip ET posted about the bamboo rod makers and their fishing them has me sopping wet in anticipation of casting a bamboo rod in a small stream...
Tolerance, eh wot?
