    Default Fly Recommendation Needed

I am on a holiday break in April and I will get the opportunity to fish two different waters. The first is for trout at Cleopatra's Stillwater in the Drakensberg and the second is for Bass in the Dam's at Selborne Country Club in KZN.

I am looking for advice as to what flies should I be using? I have fished at Selborne before where I was given a lure that I cannot remember it's name - it did catch before I lost it!

Any help would be most appreciated

Fly fishing is not about the fly. Its about the anglers technique and how the fly is fished.

Like Largie Whisperer said - olive and black woolly buggers are great starters.

For bass I would add something top water, like a small fly popper or gurgler/flipper.

Tie a couple Pancora Woolly buggers as well, I have always had great success with them in the Drakensberg!
