Thumbs up Fly & Art - original fine art complimented with decorative fishing flies

    Hi all,

I'd like to take this opportunity and introduce my new business venture i.e "Fly & Art". I'm not going to copy and paste from the website so rather click on the link and browse when you have the time.

    Hi Gerrit,

    Very nice venture, well done!

Would love to have such a piece of art in my living room..

I presume you are tying the flies?

Could I perhaps make one suggestion, since you are already a very good fly tyer (capable of tying LARGE quantities of identical flies), do not limit your range to only modern flies. Do a few traditional patterns as well (there is a bit of old school lurking in all of us.. ;-)

Also perhaps do a range with traditional SA flies, there are so many, you are spoilt for choice!

The paintings are stunning, you can really leave a legacy (something like the old Transkei series)

Best of luck with the venture, I sincerely hope that you succeed!

    Best Regards

    Jaco

Thanks Jakes appreciated! I'll put your suggestion on ice ag I mean deep freeze cause the range of flies are already sorted with no 2 and 3 hitting the shelves probably end of this month.

Ps. Just kidding I'll consider it.

Very lakka... have you sold any yet?
Word of advice, as a fine art dealer for the past 20 odd years. People don't like to pay for the frames, they are going to want you to send it unframed. Give them a framed and unframed option. Also, build in the shipping into the price. When people buy art, they want to know that there are no hidden costs. Rather push the price up by a few hundred and say "delivery included". Stay away from using the word "shipping". It is less personal than the word "delivery".
Include an artists CV, and give to option of prints and originals. Good luck

Thanx will take your advice into consideration. You're not perhaps interested in taking some stock on consignment?

Our work is for sale in Parys at Van Den Berg Fine At Gallery and Atmosphere Decor, Gifts and Furniture.

I am happy to announce that we have secured another Art Gallery to display our work. If you're ever in the Dullstroom area please visit Dimitrov Art Gallery.
