Good day fine people of Flytalk.

Anyone want to show me how to catch from a boat in winter on the vaal?

I'll provide the fishduc, petrol, beer and whatever else is needed.

    Hi shark_za

What area of the Vaal are you planning to fish? Me and yella are planning to extensively fish Bothaville/ Potch area. If in the area we might get together. Other option is contacting Elgro Lodge and finding out if someone is guiding on the drift there, it is a sure bet you will learn a lot on that 4-6hours drift. Or watch the threads.....with the visibility increasing I think within a months time some guys who are hardy largie hunters might be doing the drift and more than willing to accomodate you.

Hey I'm open to travel but usually fish Oosthuizens to WoelW as its the closest.

I will call Elgro and see what they can offer as far as guiding goes.

I was just thinking the same. The Vaal in winter is quite a tester of persistence and patience...

    Hi.

I know Mark Yelland does some guiding at Elgro.

Will throw you a pers. message when we fish from the boats, but viz still not perfect yet, maybe another month.

Hi Shark. I use "paddle power" on a Croc. If you are serious, drop me a PM.

I am in no ways to be considered a guide, in fact I'm still a Newbie at winter SM fishing, compared to people like Herman Botes and others. I however know GVP and up to Oosthuizen's like the back of my hand.

    See the other replies above.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.
