    You don't need to be that cautious - people fish 10kg tippets and even higher, to breaking point, on normal fly lines without any concerns.

    Nee wat, tried this with an 11kg leader (plus swivel) pulled slowly until it broke, then pulled again and released slowly, and once more until it broke (actually on the last try the fly line broke, but right at the tip). Line was beautifully straight after this, up to the point where I reeled it up again...back to square one. This will be the line I practice casting with in the yard.

    I picked up a new Rio Gold over the weekend for a great price, so I will replace the SA line with that one and get it over and done with.

    Thanks for all the advice guys. I would still like to try the weight off the bridge at some point, but I don't have high hopes.
