    Here's one for the historians.

    When was the 1st recorded fly fishing event in South Africa?

    I read somewhere that there was flyfishing for indigenous species in the middle 1800's. Probably English colonists that brought their tackle with from England and finding them unsuitable to eat and also difficult to take on fly, started projects to bring Trout ova from Europe.

    MUCH earlier than that Korrie.

    There was a Khoi guide involved, but the fishermen were 'white'.
