Hooked on the Test river in the UK using a 9ft 4wt and size 12 hopper on 6x. Cut clean through the tippet after a 10 min fight...

Great fish, I would say 12 - 14lb easy! Sorry you dropped it.

Just had a closer look. Difficult getting perspective, but the brief glimpse between fish and panning back to the angler gives a better indication. I think you're spot on Darryl.

I can imagine the disappointment. Unfortunately when they get to that size they have big teeth! In those kinds of conditions you need the 6X to get them to eat - once they have eaten though, the fun starts. What beat on the Test?

    That's a big fish...

Love the stream, the quality of the water, the class of the fish, and the look on your mate's face 😄

Big brownies have big teeth. Had a similar, personal experience in Lesotho...sometimes you get unlucky.

    Hey Frenchy

As we said in the shop, that fish was definitely 10+ pounds.
In that stream, it was always going to be a challenge to land it.
