Hey Korrie, ya we must talk. I think I know the one place that you are talking about. We need to go there sometime.

I wonder what will you say when I post photos of MONSTER Clanwilliam yellows?

Or when I come back with a mombakkies?
Will have a lekker laugh at my expense, hiked 15km in, then 5 km up in the stream and all the way back for the weekend, and all to show 3 SMALL small mouth bass and 10 blue gills.
(I have had trips like that.) I even had a trip where we hiked to these "Magical pools" with monster fish, We turned around after 4 hours of walking in, without as much as seeing a bit of water. maybe we should have hiked 6 hours and we would have found the pools.

I was up there recently (Korrie is aware of this ). Not a lot of flowing water as levels were extremely low. That being said, when we found pools we found fish. Even the small shallow pools held decent sized small mouth bass which was great stalking. Caught lots of those and the usual plethora of bluegills. And eventually two yellows, one of which was decent size.

Got this photo of a decent Clanwilliam Yellow from the Cedarberg.
Not the best quality photo, but good enough to see a decent fish

PS: they are probably one of the most beautiful fish around
