    Exploder ... Nuff said.

Ag you can't really compare them, it's like a GLoomis GLX or the newer NRX, you have to hold it in your hand only once to know that they're simply in a totally different league to other rods. Same thing with the older TCR, TCX and the new Method. They're just in a different class altogether.

9', I don't think you will find many rods in a 7WT that has a 10' option, for my money a longer rod is only beneficial when you're nymphing for extra reach and control viz mending or when spey casting, but none of those apply when hunting LM.

An extra foot won't allow you to cast farther or higher (like on a back cast over grass behind you when standing next to a troot stockie pond)

10' all the way easier line pick up, better mend possibilities, quicker landing, etc.

Haven't you considered getting a 13ft Spey yet?

Swift is not the only company making S2 Unidirectional glass. Studio Thin Line has rolled a couple in a limited run - hoping they do some more in the near future.

What would be the ideal line for largies? Floating or intermediate? WF or sink tip or what?
Thanks for all the replies so far.

I have caught largies on floaters intermediate and sinking lines. It all depends on how you have to fish for them dependent on the conditions. Most of the time you would get away with a floater or a type two intermediate. Sometimes they are deeper down and it can be helpful in a deep pool to use a sinker, although I haven't ever really found a need to go any heavier than a DI3

Usually when I fish for LM yellows I use a floating line and a fast intermediate but I have seen in a few pictures of guys using a line that is a light blue colour. What line are they using?
