lovely fish, Well done
A few of us hit a farm near Notties last weekend. Fishing was good, 5 of us, 86 fish in 3 days but mainly smallish rainbows of 1-3lbs. Then these 2 buggers came along. Both were caught on the same fly, at the exact same spot, at the exact same time 1 day apart. First is my 63cm (weight unknown) brown and next is my mate's Jerome's 74cm, 9.5lb bus. I have lost 2 monster browns over the passed 2 years and it began to haunt me but finally got one and it was worth the wait (weight).
They were both caught on a plain black (as opposed to with green) Fritz off a floating line, sinking for 30 seconds and then retrieved as slowly as the brain would allow. I guess they were taken as a tadpole imitation judging by the size and quantity of them in the shallows.
