A few more bits of info I hope you find useful.

Here's a link to access map for the Tyenna River:

Plenty more Angler Access Brochures just like above at this link:

    Article on top ten spots:

Arthurs Lake is wonderful fishing - but easier if you can get access to a boat.
Boat hire place worth a try:

Personally I recommend leaving a good chunk of time to fish Bronte Lagoon - good shore based fishing that I enjoyed (plus snakes of course).

Also do some research into fishing for salmon escapees in the Huon River area:

Unless you have plenty time to spare you can skip the mid west coast - Queenstown & Strahan - they're interesting but a bit out of the way.

If I was doing your trip I'd go from Hobart to the South West (pretty and touristy woodwork forests etc), then South East to the Tasman Peninsula (historical Port Arthur), then East (stunning coastal), North (pretty and fishing and maybe across to Cradle Mountain), then central area (lakes fishing) and back down to Hobart.

........ you could also finish with the South West rather than start there - it'll leave a better final impression on SWMBO than the central lake fishing phase of the tour

Thanks for all this great info William. Maps and brochures are very helpful. Very much appreciated. The wife is putting together a travel route while I'm doing my fishing spots. At some or other stage we will combine the two and then we should have a proper itinerary. I'm looking forward to the Tyenna, Arthurs Lake and Dervent River fishing. So many great places to pick from. Will keep you up to date.
