Default LM Yellows, is there a time of day that works better

A question for the large mouth yellow pro's.
Is there a specific time of day to target these, or do you go at it all day.
    Regards

All day... The time you spend fishing your second rod for SmallMouth only detracts from the hours you have to fish for LM.

Experience has shown that full moon does make the LM fishing harder, but I'm not sure if it is purely a night feeding thing or because there is usually crappy weather associated with the full moon, my gut says it's due to the weather, we've caught Largies in the dead of night.

I have found that the evening low light brings them out to play. Particularly those pools downstream from Pooitjiespram. In the evening you can see them actively hunting, and when they are doing this, several fish before sunset isn't unusual. I have had 4 fish in 4 casts before.

Same feeling this side. I try and after 2-3 hours I get the nymphs out and get in the shallow waters for some smallies fun. Just don't have the patience it seems.
But I find it quite interesting about the night activity mentioned in the thread thus far......just to get on a boat in the dead of the night.....that's my challenge.

Flyfishing for yellows...the most fun a man can have, with his clothes on, while standing up, holding a bar of gold in your hands.

Have a great trip Craig. Water is a little high and cold for the area that you are going to, but you should find some good water. Take some photos and post when youre back.

All the guys I know have caught them any time of the day, week, moon phase etc, it does not really matter, it is more to do with skill than time of the day or month.
