Dumbbels are a bit small to keep it riding upright, test it in your pool.

    The colour combination works well.
I will definitely though use a longer, thinner hook - get some Gamakatsu B10S 2 and 2/0 - You will never use any other hooks ever again for Tigerfish.
You only need 4 colours used in different combinations - Black, red, olive and purple, the rest are nice to have

The Gamakatsu SC15S (I think) also works well for slim weightless flies, where the body is tied above the shank.

That particular combo is very sticky, but for all my Clouser types I use B10S.

Depends how you tie them, and what size dumbel you use. I tie them on top of the hook shank, so the fly rides "point up", every time. Tiger flies should ideally also be tied quite sparse.

i tried it and it rides nice with the hook point up. but i also think slimmer hooks will work better

Your research in this instance, is incomplete.

Says you, but the experts would disagree with you. Theres a very good reason to tie them sparse, that you obviously haven't thought of.
