    As far as I know you are opening a can of worms here
    An honest fisherman is a pretty uninteresting person.

    Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and not only is he hungry but broke for the rest of his life as well.

    Teams are selected on trials results. The guys fish a league throughout the year, and the top five go into the A team, and the second five go into the B team. Korrie and Albie didn't finish in the top five, and were selected for the B team. Its not cherry picking, its a simple matter of team selection based on previous performance in trials and Nationals. Also bear in mind that Korrie had a disastrous Nationals last year and his previous performance points from that, counted against him. Ithink its great that there are other anglers who are being given a fair chance at beating some very experienced and good anglers into the A team. It basically shows that teams are selected on merit. If guys like Korrie and Albie are relegated to the B team, based on performance, can you imgine what the WP A team is like?
    If Korrie had been drafted into the WP A team, after not having properly qualified, it would have been a bigger can of worms.
    If people lose their position in the A team, they have to perform to get it back.

    Well said! We have worked very hard as a Province these past year, as you can see by our sustained growth in our membership base. We are fielding 3 full Senior teams this year and are the only Province to do so. This bodes well for the overall quality of anglers that WP is producing as the increased competition between its members forces them to be at the top of their game at all times.

    As Andre mentioned, the teams are selected purely on their result from our trials process. There can be no 'cherry picking' or the trial process would end up being a waste of time and members may resent being removed from a team if their results show them making it in. Our trials process has been molded and improved over the past years and we are very confident that it has produces the best possible teams.

    Korrie is a seriously quality angler and although he did not make the A team this year, you can bet your house that he will be back next year, ready to kick the front door down and fight to regain his spot in the A's!
    Around the steel no tortur'd worm shall twine, No blood of living insect stain my line;
    Let me, less cruel, cast feather'd hook, With pliant rod athwart the pebbled brook,
    Silent along the mazy margin stray, And with fur-wrought fly delude the prey
