I live in on the other side of the Boerie curtain, would like to join
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone in the Northern Suburbs would be interested in starting a Fly Tying Group/Club/Social Group in the New year.
I am very new at Fly Tying and although I enjoy it, I dont always like to look at youtube videos after a day of staring at a screen at work, would like to meet some fellow fly fisherman and learn a bit more in a social enviroment.
I dont know if anyone is interested or have any alternative ideas but input would be appreciated.
The basic idea I had in mind, is generally either we convince/blackmail/pay some master Flytyer to do an demonstration for us or you take it upon yourself to learn a pattern and then demonstrate the tying process and the rest follow suite.
The ideal would be to hopefully get a good balance of tyers and hopefully we can all learn something.
Anyways if this is something you would be interested in, please let me know.
Cheers

Nymphing, adds depth to your fly fishing.
Nymphing, is fly fishing in another dimension
Hey Uli
Craig at StreamX used to do a Thursday night tying session at the shop in the first or second week of every month. Was really good. But there is a need for something else.
If you work with monkeys you'll definitely slip on a banana peel!
The way to a fly fisherman's heart is AlWAYS through his fly!!
Also I am not trying to exclude anyone in different suburbs if it sounded that way, I wouldn't mind anyone joining, the hosting will mainly be in the Northern Suburbs. So if you willing to make the drive, it would be leka to meet some people.
Cheers
