    Hi Andre,

I personally haven't fished it, but know quite a few of the guys use it, they will give better feedback.

Here are the specs according to Rio's website:

The Perfect Line for Czech, Polish, and French style Nymphing.

The Euro Nymph Line was designed by Steve Parrott to satisfy the need for a one size fits all European style Nymphing line that is competition legal. The line is built on a thin diameter, low stretch, supple core to maximize sensitivity and allow for lightning fast hook sets, while a highly visible tip helps anglers detect the slightest of strikes. This line is designed specifically for European style nymphing techniques, such as “French”, “Czech”, “Polish”, and “Spanish” styles.

    • Ultra-thin, incredibly light line for the utmost in sensitivity
    • Conforms to international fly fishing rules
    • Highly visible tip for detecting the subtlest of takes
    • Built on a supple, low-stretch core

    Hi Andre
It sounds very much like the Snowbee XS #2 to #5 weight line I test a few months ago. Here's my write up on the Snowbee line in the Durban Fly Tyers Mag for interest

Thanks Andrew. I appreciate that, but it doesn't tell me how the line performs as a "ESN line." Given that its punted as a specialist line for this purpose, and much of my fishing is done around ESN. Im wondering how much better it would be than my own ESN leader construction. Guess Im going to have to try one for myself.

    Hi Andre,

What is your ESN leader construction?

Without going into too much detail, its basically a 35 feet leader tapering down from a 25 pound mono, to a 8 pound mono, to which I add various tippets. There are between 4 and 7 sections of different diameters, depending on how aggressive I need the taper to be, for any given conditions.

Ok, and what fly line do you use?

For ESN, you don't use a fly line... the leader is the line.

Which is exactly what the flyline as above is designed as. It is essentially a very thin PVC coated leader (with all the benefits of a floating fly line). As I understand it, it eliminates the need for such a long leader and the many connection knots associated.
