    I vary them between 5cm & 7cm.

    Also a different type of weed guard. Looks like a single strand. Could that work over heavy grass patches?

    Good point. In places at Keurbooms, smallish elf (up to about 18inches) tend to hang around heavilly grassed places. I found far better results from a fly with the hook facing up. Down pointing hooks get stuck more often.

    With mono eyes it should work quite similar to a tarpon toad. Side by side wiggle and consistent depth planing instead of an up and down jig action. I like the idea for the body- should be a lot quicker to tie than tarpon toads.

    Ja it sucks! But works so well. We have caught some really nice fish on them recently. Does your version swim as nicely? If if does, then its an absolute winner!

    Swims beautifully doesn't spin it's only about the size of your thumb, maybe a lil smaller but obviously it dives with the dumbell but it has to, sometimes fish sit in 3m-5m deep water with current so you have to get down.
