Default The Italian Style of casting

I am busy watching this DVD.
    http://www.flylineshop.com/the-itali...ting-dvds.html

Brushing up on what I learnt many years ago in Italy.
A must watch for those that prefer shorter faster rods
Some snippets available on Youtube as well.
Not for the longer softer rods, but if you enjoy casting the shorter faster rods, highly recommended

This casting is more for fast flowing streams, not so much for the large slow moving rivers or pools

    Hi Korrie,

What exactly would constitute a shorter rod to you

Jokes aside what length and wt rods do these guys generally use?

For these guys up to 8" and up to #5. but all depending on the size of the stream, from #3 for smaller streams

For me a short rod is 9'

You should really just consider nymphing with a spey rod

I like the use of the shorter rods, thanks for the info. Something to read about this winter.

Not only read but practice. it requires lots of practice. but when the rivers are higher, at the beginning of the season, a lovely way to fish
