    Default Richersveld Orange River Trip

Trip Date - 19 September to 24 September

    Trip Cost - R 6895.00 pp

NB - Valid Passport Compulsory ( We come back through Namibia)

Join us on this great adventure exploring South Africa’s last unspoiled yellow fish frontier. We start off 20km downstream of Vioolsdrif where we spend the first two nights. Here you will be introduced to the finer skills of catching yellow fish on fly. Then for three full days we will float through the remote Nababeep Community and Richtersveld Community reserves, with spectacular mountain views and an amazing abundance of fish and bird life.

September is prime fishing time on this stretch of the Orange River!

Fish Species - Smallmouth Yellowfish (aka Nababeep Beenvis) , Largemouth Yellowfish (aka Woestyn Krapkraker), Orangeriver Mudfish (aka Harregat Ploegvis), Sharptooth Barbel (aka Saagtand Snorbaard), Common Carp (aka Hoogs Waarskynlike Karpervis).

"Don't quote us on the alternative Afrikaans names" :-)

Rafting/Rowing Skill required - Suitable for beginners/whole family {from 6 years old to 70 years + individuals have navigated this part of the river numerous times).

The River is graded from level 1-3 in difficulty and is suitable for beginners. The Orange River is a pool drop river, which means after every rapid, there is always a pool. The guides will be preparing meals on open fires and guide you safely down the Orange River.
