Very nice Koos. Are you also jumping onto the bandwagon and making those very colourful plastic rods? (GRP)

No Neil the only bandwagon I got on is Tenkara.
When it comes to rods I build what clients want.
I am trying to keep things simple these days and maybe thats why I enjoy Tenkara so much.

Huge compliment coming from you, thanks.
Yes the Stealth finish on the Heron is definately growing on people.
Thanks for sharing your build. I love your work, you have a very unique style of building and the tartan bags just adds that special touch.
I certainly look forward to your next offering.
Those are some excellent builds there, impressive cork work and nice that the epoxy is just enough, hate it when too much epoxy is applied. The Heron reminds me of my old Hardy glass 4wt that I have, it has one of the nicest grips I've ever used.

Fly-fishing surpasses the need to actually catch a fish, it becomes a mindset, and with time, an obsession.
Lord, grant that I may catch a fish so big that even I,
When speaking afterwards,
May have no need to lie.
Amen
Yes it is a very unique grip and very comfortable. One day I would like to build a small stream rod and turn a similar grip for it, but use 1/8" cork rings with dyed glue to achieve a ratten look, like the last one on this page
