    Default Bamboo for rods?

Hi guys are there any native species of bamboo that can be used to make a fly rod? Thanks.

Thamnocalamus tessellatus, Berg Bamboo (or African Dwarf Bamboo what I have also heard it being called) is an option apparently. You just to find some that are straight and thick enough.
