Kalk Bay/Fishhoek/Simonstown

Hi All,

I've seen a couple of old threads mentioning Simonstown and the likes, but nothing all that recent.

Has anyone been there recently to froth the waves?
Is it worth a try?
Anywhere in particular?
What's out there to catch on fly?

On fly off Kalk Bay harbour wall, Maasbanker if the water's warm (we are running out of time though), tiny elf and odd microscopic snoek on a #12 White Death' and chance of big mackerel in high summer on maybe 5-6 days a year. Otherwise in amongst the rocks you might get the odd klipvis. Not very exciting frankly.

Sounds like it'll be more worth the drive towards Hermanus and beyond to De Mond?
