Default Road trip Time... Whoop whoop

    Jis jis you ouens.

I am leaving on an epic bike trip, as I do every May, on the 3rd.
Part of my packing list is my 5/6 flyrod and a floating line.

Trip is going to take me past the Orange Below the big pond ad then up through the Eastern Free State. I grew up around the Kestell area.
Some of the rivers there I have fished. Like the Elands and the Wilge. However I have never fished Sterkies before..... Maybe even I fish it this time.

I am looking for a bit of advice on the smaller spruits and streams that folk have fished there.

From kestell I will be going through KZN, (ladysmith etc, to "The Place where the Sun Comes out". Will be based there for around 4 days or so. Whiteriver that is.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Epic trip.
I think a lot of the spruite en little rivers might be a bit dry.
But if you give a more detailed route, I might be able to help with some advice along the route and contact persons.

CFT, I think it will be a bit cold for Sterkies in May.
Over the hill from Sterkies, you can fish in the Royal Natal National Park.
Also, have a look at Engogo near Memel.

Engogo, landed up closing its doors to the public, they wanted it for their family and friends only but did hear lately they could allow a visitor here and there. lovely place.

You can also fish the Upper Tugela near Stekies which holds some trout and Natal Scalies. PM me for a location where you can get access to the water.

Well I am taking a 5/6 weight with me and a floating line as packing space is a premium.

Got a number of flies ranging from ant patterns, from Alan Hobson, and a couple of trusted old faithful like woolly buggers etc.
Hope this is gonna be enough but alas I cannot take the 2 weight as well.

    Any advice would be great
