I dont know where Sage would go with a rod to replace the ESN.
My favorite rods from sage have been the 99 and the ESN. When it comes to less specialised sages, I loved the ZXL and the Z-Axis, but not for all things, as there were things I tried to do with them that they were not ideally suited to.
The reason for the question was that it seems to be a trend with Sage as soon as a new material becomes available they upgrade all existing models with the newer materials.

Honestly, the only stream rods I'll buy now is an 3wt ESN and/or a Douglas Upstream.

No, not yet. I was going to organise with Jade to fish his rod while he was in Germany, but I never got round to doing that.

Its still there and waiting for you bud. I can have it dropped off at Suburban Tackle for you if that makes it easier? It needs an outing. Its been awhile since I have used it.

Word of warning Korrie and Stan, I built the rod with custom guides etc, so the action might be a little different

Im happy to lend you my 2wt. do you have one of those long leaders. the only way to really test a ESN is with the 30 or 40 foot French leader, or the Euro nymphing line.
