Jy moet eendag die water by ons plaas (so 20km Stroomaf, oorkant Venterskroon) kom probeer. Dis alles bietjie stadiger vloeie en so 1m diep met baie eilande en features, ek dink dis beter Largie habitat by ons as kleinbek.

Our trip had mixed success....Firstly don't try and fish for smallies, largies, salmo hornets, little bit of papgooi and floaties and everything in on day haha. We spent more time packing up, carrying heavy kayaks around rapids and rowing than fishing! My buddy tipped over and I had to chase his paddle and only found it 1km downstream which wasted lots of fishing time.

As my friends were not flyfishers we resorted to bait fishing and caught plenty fish. (Lots of small largies in between) Our neighbours also fished and caught and released about 5 largies up to 3 kg which is good news. The rapids are full of small smallies also.

The highlight of the weekend was when I spotted +-20 barble sipping foam just below Sunwa(Gatsien rapid). I casted DDD`s at them for about an hour but they are too stupid and miss the fly the whole time!!!! Them wham a big yellow hits my fly! Caught another similar sized on a size 16 blood worm type fly
