    Default Zululand - fishing?

    Hi there!

I'm new here in Zululand, staying close to Mtubatuba. Any rivers close by that I can try? Looked on the map, mhlatuze, mfulen. Would love catching something, yellow, talapia etc?

Im from the berg area and getting serious depression not been able to fish every weekend :-(

    Thanks!

    Thanks Korrie,

When you say lots of fishing, I guess your including the ocean...I dont have fly gear for salt water, so currently thats not an option.

What rivers are you refering to in Luneburg, Louwsburg. Thats about 200km or more from me..

You have the lagoon, which is salt, but with the normal #5 or #6 you can fish it, make sure you clean you tackle well after every trip.

There are a couple of rivers. I had friends that farmed in the area and large parts of that area had land claims and where given back to the Zulu King in the last 3 or 4 years, so I am not sure which are still accesable. The best will be to take a drive with a map or google earth and see the rivers. Stop on bridges and see which rivers looks good and approach the closest farmer and ask for permission. If you are open and straight, it is very seldom that they refuse.
