7wt for trip to NZ

Hi

I am looking at getting a new 7wt rod for nymphing and swinging a few streamers. I will be travelling to NZ next month to see family and have managed to find a few days to fish the tongariro on our way down to wellington from auckland.

I am currently thinking about going for the echo base it seems to be great value for money and has pretty good reviews online, but was wondering if anybody had any other suggestions?

We have the Echo Ion XL 7wt at R 2400 (will check), easy casting rod and can double up as a light salt rod.
