Very nice. Those beads may be gone after the first bite however, perhaps a single mono strand with burnt end to contain the beads may also work. I remember on my very first tiger trip, having my flies removed because I tied them on with loop knots!

Interesting you say that @will101 because I was thinking the same thing when I initially saw them.

I'm also wondering what the purpose is?
Extra weight or a keel to get them to swim upright?

For weight I have had great success in building an underbody of lead and then using the same eyes in either lead or tungsten to achieve the Clouser effect.

In my humble opinion, just keeps it much simpler.

It would be interesting to get some feedback from the mob heading north though and finding out the success rate of these flies? Anybody on this particular forum??

Personally I haven't fished this type Clousers much and also only in the Western Cape salt.

The client requested for the beads to be added and they are tied on multi-strand SS wire, so not sure how durable they will be. I will inquire when they return. It is to add extra weight and I believe the fly's orientation when it sinks will be more downwards, probably also adds a subtle rattle, since the beads are running very freely on the wire.

But if you hit yourself with that Clouser or for that matter the boat.....

Thanks mate for that info - be interested to hear when they are back.

PS: Great photo's by the way.
