    Default Scissors for synthetics

Guess all keen saltwater/streamer fly tiers will know that synthetic materials eat scissor blades. Any brand or type out there that is lasting longer and better value?

I have also asked this question to a well known commercial fly tying operations' owner and he said that all scissors seem to die a premature death when it comes to trimming synthetics.

Some of the surgical scissors made in India or Pakistan work quite well.
A fraction of the price from some of the German steel, but surprisingly, they do last and are quite cheap.

Maybe one of the medical suppliers over there.

I had a bunch that came as samples some years ago that I have used and can honestly say have lasted very well.

    Hope this helps.

I use a R25.00 serrated bladed scissors that are used to cut braid. Works great and available at must fishing tackle shops.
